The Challenge
Arbomex, based in Celaya, Mexico, is a global supplier of iron, aluminium, and steel solutions to the automotive industry. They faced significant challenges in managing inventory efficiently through standard SAP processes.
Their traditional approach to inventory management led to inefficiencies, with frequent instances of overstocking or stockouts that increased warehousing costs and risked delivery delays.
Arbomex’s planning process was largely reactive, addressing issues as they occurred rather than preventing them. Additionally, analysing the planning situation across various materials was time-consuming, involving outdated Excel templates and multiple SAP transactions, hindering their ability to make quick, data-driven decisions.
The Solution
To address these issues, Arbomex implemented Innova’s Planning Monitor, a SaaS-based solution distributed in Europe by Asaptek to enhance planning within SAP environments.
The Planning Monitor, deployed on AWS for the front-end while integrated with SAP for backend consistency, provided Arbomex with real-time visibility into inventory levels.
This SAP-integrated MRP app enabled proactive planning by consolidating data and offering various MRP (Material Requirements Planning) rules for more precise scenario analysis.
By eliminating manual data transfers and providing timely alerts, the solution streamlined Arbomex’s planning operations, allowing them to anticipate demand and maintain healthy stock levels more effectively.
Ongoing Benefits
Since adopting the Planning Monitor, Arbomex has experienced ongoing operational improvements.
Inventory management has been optimised, leading to reduced warehousing costs and minimised risk of stockouts, enhancing customer satisfaction by ensuring timely deliveries.
The proactive approach enabled by this solution has also strengthened Arbomex's relationships with major automotive clients, such as Ford and Stellantis, by ensuring reliable supply. Additionally, streamlined planning processes have reduced the workload on staff, freeing them to focus on strategic projects that drive growth and innovation in their business.
